
The Skoda Octavia (World Rally Car) WRC Evo II competing in the
MSA Asphalt Rally Championship 2008 is the original 2001 Works Skoda Octavia based on the Skoda Octavia 1.8 20v four door hatchback, it was homologated for the first time in January 1999 for use in the World Rally Championship. Modifications include 4 wheel drive, a six speed sequential transmission, programmable active differentials and the Skoda 2.0T 20v turbocharged engine producing a restricted 300 bhp at 5000rpm and 600Nm torque at 3250rpm.
Armin Schwarz drove this car to finish fourth in the Monte Carlo Rally in 2001 (Car No11).
2008 sees the car, driven by
Andy Fenwick, Co-Driven by
Lee Tindall, supported by
Simon Hewitt, campaigning the
Richard Egger Insurance MSA Asphalt Rally Championship on a wide variety of surfaces, covering everything from narrow bumpy lanes, where the asphalt is mostly grass, to the wide open spaces of Cornwall and the tight, extremely fast closed public roads of the
Jim Clark Rally.
